Born in 1978. Graduated from the Department of International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University Prague. She holds a PhD degree from Palacký University in Olomouc. During her studies she spent two terms at the University Marburg/Lahn, Germany and Technical University Dresden, Germany. She joined the Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen in 2002. Today she teaches mainly at Metropolitan University Prague. Šárka Waisová published articles on security studies, human security, foreign policy analysis and regime analysis.
