Call for papers - 2009 Annual Conference: Current security threats in Europe
The Center for Security Studies (CSS) at the Metropolitan University Prague (MUP) cordially invites you to participate in the first students and professionals’ conference on European security issues, which will take place at the MUP in Prague on April 4th 2009 (Metropolitní univerzita Praha, Dubečská 900/10, Praha 10).
Topics of interest include:
1) Immigration and the European Union
2) Cross-border threats
3) The European Union’s engagement in contemporary conflicts
Papers on related security topics will be considered as well. The conference will be held in English only. If you would like to present a paper, please send an abstract via e-mail to conference@c4ss.cz by February 13th 2009. Abstract in English should be 200-250 words long and submitted in one of the following formats: Word Document or Adobe Acrobat. Please include your full name, e-mail address and institutional affiliation. Authors of selected papers will be notified via e-mail in late February 2009.
All papers presented at the conference will be considered for publication in the electronic conference proceedings at the CSS’ webpage. If you want your paper to be published, please see the guidelines for conference contributors, which are available at the conference webpage www.c4ss.cz/conference. The conference attendance is free of charge, lunch and refreshments will be provided by the organizers.
