EU-Russia Conference: Prospects for a Strategic Partnership
Association for International Affairs in cooperation with the University of Birmingham, EU-Russia Centre, and The University Association for Contemporary European Studies (UACES) holds an international conference on EU-Russia relations entitled "Prospects for a Strategic Partnership". It follows the workshop on this topic which took place in February 2011 in Prague. It will be the first public event the Association organizes in Brussels.
The aim of the conference will be to explore concrete steps which the European and Russian policy community might take in order to build a more durable and meaningful partnership. The organizers intend to publish a summary of the conference in a form of a policy brief. Firstly, participants will discuss specific issues on the agenda of political and economical cooperation and then the prospects for a new strategic framework for the EU-Russia relationship. Particular attention will be paid to key issues in the current relationship and to the institutional set-up and steering mechanisms Brussels and Moscow should strive to develop in order to advance their partnership.
