PhDr. Vilém KOLÍN, Ph.D., MGS
Born in 1974. Since September 2010 he has been working as the Senior Defence Industry Data Officer at the Industry and Market Directorate of the European Defence Agency (EDA) in Brussels. Between 2006 and 2010, he worked as the Deputy Central Point of Contact of the Czech Republic for the EDA at the Ministry of Defence, Armaments Division, Armaments Management and R&D Department in Prague. From 2005 to 2006, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Institute for Strategic Studies, University of Defence, in Brno. In 2010, he received a Ph.D. in International Relations from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague. In 2003, as a Fulbright Scholarship recipient, he received the Master in Global Studies degree with the major in International Security from the Joseph Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver, USA. In 2003, he was awarded the United Nations Fulbright Fellowship and, as a UN Fulbright Fellow, worked in the Department for Disarmament Affairs, Weapons of Mass Destruction Branch, at the UN Headquarters in New York. In 2004, he completed Graduate Study Programme at the UN Headquarters in Geneva. His research interest focuses on the EU Common Security and Defence Policy, defence industry and market issues, international co-operative programmes, and on the question of lawful and justified use of force in international relations.
