Personal Data Protection Policy

These personal data protection policies apply to the web site of the Obrana a strategie journal, published by the University of Defence in Brno. Technical operation of the web site is managed by as4u.cz, s.r.o., address: Jana Masaryka 24, 120 00 Praha 2, ID: 28884035, henceforth as4u.cz.

Information about the processing of personal data

The as4u.cz company takes care of the protection of personal data provided by you. It is important for you to know that the personal data you provide to us is treated responsibly, transparently and in accordance with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council. You have the right to request information we store about you, its correction or deletion, if such information was provided based on your consent. Where the processing is automated, you have the right to data portability and the right not to become subject to a decision based solely on this method of decision making.  You can contact us in writing using the address of the company with any questions or requests related to the processing of your personal data.

The security of your personal data

The as4u.cz company takes care of the security of personal data provided by you. We have adopted technical and organisational measures to protect your data sufficiently with regard to the serious nature of its processing. Your data that we obtained from you is not accessible to any unauthorised person and it is not transferred to third parties for further processing without your consent, unless required by law or with respect to the protection of our legal interests.

The right to be informed

You have the right to ask the as4u.cz company for the information about the type of personal data we store about you, its scope and purpose of processing. This information will be provided to you for free within no more than 30 days, in exceptional cases at the latest within 90 days. Where the period should be longer, we will inform you in time. Where you require information that we store about you, we first need to confirm that you are the person this information belongs to. Please, indicate sufficient identification of your person in your request. If necessary, we have the right to request additional information in order to identify you before providing the personal data that we process about your person. We then have the right to refuse requests for information which are unjustified or excessively repeated or where obtaining the information requires disproportionate effort or where the information would be difficult to recover (typically from backups, archives, etc.).

The right to data portability

You have the right to obtain personal data that we store about you, in a structured, normally used and machine-readable format. Based on your request, this data may be transferred to another administrator.

Updating the data, the right to correct data

Since personal data may change over time (such as changing the surname), we welcome if you inform us when a change occurs so that we can update your personal data and prevent any possible confusion. Notifying us about the change in your data is essential for us to be able to perform our role of an administrator properly. This is also related to your right to correct the personal data that we store about you. If you find that our data is no longer up to date, you have the right to require its correction. Objection

If you believe that your personal data is not processed in accordance with the applicable legislation of the Czech Republic and the EU, you have the right to object and we shall then examine the legitimacy of your request. When you file your objection, the processing of your data will be limited, until the legitimacy of your request is verified. The right to limit processing 

You have the right to limit the processing of your personal data if you believe that such stored data is not correct or that it is not processed in accordance with the law, and further if you believe that we no longer need this data for the purpose of processing it.

The right to be forgotten

If you have ever given us consent with the processing of your personal data (for example, your e-mail address when subscribing to our newsletter), you have the right to withdraw the consent any time; in this case, we are obliged to delete the data that we process solely on the basis of your consent. The right to be forgotten does not apply to the data processed subject to fulfilling the contract, legal obligations or legitimate interests. Where part of your data is stored in backup systems that automatically provide resilience of all our systems and fulfil the function of protection against data loss in the event of accidents, it is not in our power to erase the data from the backup systems and often it is not technically feasible. However, this data is no longer not actively processed and will not be used for further processing purposes.
