Notification of changes valid from May 1, 2012
Effective from May 1, 2012, the Editorial Board of the Defence & Strategy journal approved a number of new or updated documents in order to simplify and further improve the quality of the publishing process. We have added new documents Ethical Standards, Review Process and other documents. The Guidelines for Authors have been modified in order to provide bigger comfort for authors preparing their contributions and, at the same time, they respond to new standards for bibliographic citations. At the same time, the Internet portal of the journal was updated and redesigned. We believe that the adopted modifications will further increase the attractiveness of the journal both, for the readers and authors. We will be happy, if you share your experience, opinions and comments with us, as they will contribute to further improvements and preparing a high-quality and interesting journal for you. A New Member Appointed to the Editorial Board
In accordance with the provisions of Article 3, pp. 4 of the Statute of the Editorial Board of the Defence and Strategy journal, Rector-Commandant of the University of Defence Brigadier General prof. Ing. Rudolf Urban, Ph.D., dr. h. c. appointed on April 16, 2012 a new member of the Editorial Board instead dr. Zavesicky who resigned in March. Dr. David Konecky, Director of the Common Foreign & Security Policy Department, Czech MFA, Prague, was appointed for the period from May 1, 2012 to December 31, 2013.

Defence & Strategy became a part of MID
Our journal Defence & Strategy (Obrana a strategie) has started cooperation with The Gale Group, Inc. According to the mutual agreement, the magazine content will be provided and distributed by The Military and Intelligence Database run by above mentioned company.
The Military and Intelligence Database periodical list has been hand-selected by Gale editors to meet the content needs of libraries serving military personnel. Additionally, the product includes some basic reference materials that are updated annually: The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia and The World Almanac and Book of Facts.
