The Prague Agenda - the Way Forward

The Institute of International Relations in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic cordially invites you to the conference

The Prague Agenda - the Way Forward

The historic city of Prague has recently hosted two major international security events. First, in April 2009 US President Obama arrived in Prague to announce his bold nuclear disarmament vision. Second, in April 2010, Prague was chosen to host the summit of bilateral US-Russian nuclear arms control talks that resulted in the signature of the New Start Treaty. The selection of Prague as the venue provides now a unique opportunity to take stock of the progress achieved so far in the two agendas. With the participation of high ranked world representatives and renowned experts, the goal of the whole event is to explore both political and expert views related to disarmament, arms control, non-proliferation and nuclear security.

Speakers include:

Panel I: Taking Stock of the Prague Agenda

Panel II: Strategic Thinking: Arms Control, Disarmament and Non-Proliferation

Panel III: Strengthening the Nuclear Security

The conference will take place on Tuesday, 12th April 2011 from 9:30 – 16:00.

The venue is the Great Hall, Czernin Palace, Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Loretánské nám. 5, Prague 1.

Due to the necessary security measures for the guests' entrance to the MFA building and the limited number of seats in the conference room, we kindly ask you to register to the conference via the e-mail address registrace@iir.cz by Thursday 7th April 2011 at the latest.
